I woke up in the middle of the night. Had to be that late as all the fires in the hut were lit and roaring. I tried to lift myself up and instantly regretted it. Ungodly pain shot through my body, knocking me down again. When I woke up again It was bright. Assuming it was already the next day, I slowly got up (this time without any pain) and walked out. The glowing orb in the sky wasn't the sun... It was the moon, and yet everything was clear as during daylight. Confused, I walked to the nearest barrel to splash my face, and then I saw it. My eyes flashing bright yellow, reflecting any light coming towards them. IT WAS NIGHTTIME! For some devilish reason I was able to see without any issues. I felt dizzy and collapsed on the ground again.

The next couple of days were a blur of nightmares, daydreaming, hallucinations, and pain. During short periods of consciousness, I saw Duncan tending to me and my wound. I noticed the constant, steady flow of blood. It was clear that I'll need to change my bandages every single day in order to control it. After a week I realised this is no longer natural. I tried eating some bread and cheese I found in the hut, but that only made me nauseous. It was on the 16th day, when an unknown child wandered into the hut, that I realised what I've become... I don't want to get into details, as to this day I dread my actions from that night.
Duncan helped me realise that my action was natural. That we are hunters, predators, apex species. He tried to explain that remorse and guilt are unnecessary when it comes to human death, but... I still could not agree. Against his teachings, I started hunting in the woods. At night my darkvision helped me find badgers, foxes, deer, and smaller game. Animal blood is disgusting, but it has to be this way. This is the only way my immortal soul survives. That is...if I still have one.

Thousand Year Old Vampire: Prologue (1327)

You'll find info about the game I'm playing: Thousand Year Old Vampire - at the bottom of each related post.

My name is Iain mac Seumas Douglas. I was born near Lanark in the year 1305. The year my story properly begins is 1327. But before we deep dive into events that made me...who I am, you need to know a few details. I was born and raised to be a Scottish warrior of Clan Douglas. My father, Seumas mac Dòmhnaill Douglas, was a strong, firm, but awfully quiet man. I still remember how he taught me proper sword fighting. I was awfully clumsy when we started, but I managed to improve and even reach his skill level. For my 17th birthday he gave me my very own longsword. The same one that previously belonged to my grandfather.
My life would've been nothing without my best friend Alasdair and Isla, the love of my life. My relationship with Alasdair solidified one day when, during hunting, we fell into a massive crevice in the ground and were stuck there for the whole day before elders found us (we were 15 at that time). We talked, shared experiences, and bonded for life. I met Isla during one of the fishing trips. She was waiting for her brother's return on a shore, weaving a magnificent blanket. We knew we were meant for each other instantly. Since that day we kept meeting all the time until finally, a year ago, she moved to our family house.
That's all you need to know about my everyday life. My father, Alasdair, and Isla were my life and reason to keep fighting. Fighting on Scottish borders for our independence. During one of the battles, I was mortally wounded. The enemy's sword pierced my chest, and I fell unconscious. Fortunately, one of our allies from Clan MacBreatnach, Duncan, grabbed me and removed me from the battlefield. His herbalist skills were unmatched, and his concoctions magical. My wounds healed almost instantly...apart from one. That gushing hole in my chest kept bleeding. Duncan looked at me and poured one more elixir into my mouth. This time I did not taste herbs but...iron. I spat and choked, but it was too late. A burning hot sensation spread through my body, and my chest wound pulsed. A river of blood flowed out of it, and I felt my mortal life ending. I drifted away... Only to wake up hungry and thirsty beyond comprehension.

Hello World!

So this is it. After so many years of collecting numerous journaling and solo TTRPG games, I've decided to do something about it and... well... start playing them. I cannot promise novel-sized posts or always gripping plots, but I can promise lots of fun and (hopefully) inspiration for your gaming sessions. I'll try to include as many details about every game before I start each new campaign so you can join me in each journey on your end. But for now - stay tuned. We'll soon start with something a little bit bloody.
